The year before I closed my stained glass business~ just before our move in 2019~ my final custom window was a memorial piece for a family who had endured the unimaginable loss of their baby. We were in the whirlwind of listing our home and tying up loose ends, but how could I say no?
They had reached out from such a tender, vulnerable space~ entrusting me with their delicate hearts and the sacred honor of creating a tribute that not only remembered their beloved child, but also wove meaningful symbols for each member of their family~ into glass, light, and love. It was such a deep honor to walk that journey with them, to hold their hearts with reverence. I didn’t realize it then, but it quietly foreshadowed the work I would be called to do again.
Just this past month, I’ve received four heartfelt requests for memorial windows~ this time through my resin art. These pieces offer such a tender, tangible way to hold our loved ones close~ even after they’ve gone. To walk this sacred path with each person~ to hold space for their grief, their healing, and their enduring love~ is one of the greatest honors of my life.
